Eric Weaver, Esq.

Interim EVP, Chief People & Culture Officer

Eric Weaver is the Interim Executive Vice President and Chief People & Culture Officer at United Way Worldwide (UWW). He leads UWW’s People & Culture team, focusing on talent recruitment, development, retention, employee benefits, DEI strategy, and network human resources capacity building.

For over 25 years Eric has built and supported high-performing teams, holding significant roles across the non-profit, corporate, and government sectors. Before joining UWW, he worked at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization. There, he led the reorganization and restaffing of all HR functions, including spearheading recruitment efforts and revising talent management structures to significantly reduce recruitment costs and improve diversity within the biotech industry. Eric also worked at the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), Global Business Travel Association, and Intel Corporation. At USRA, Eric led the COVID-19 task force, ensuring a smooth transition to telework with no loss in productivity while developing an HR strategic plan to address support for the programs and institutes of USRA.  

Eric is a licensed attorney with a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Howard University. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan.

Eric serves on the board of Equal Opportunity Schools and was previously a board member of the National Job Corps Association.
