The United Way Network is helping people across the Southeast as Florence continues to impact the region, bringing with it dangerous tidal surges and unprecedented flooding. On Sept. 13, United Way created the United Way Hurricane Florence Recovery Fund, a national fund that provides a single clearinghouse for individual and corporate donors to support communities in the storm's path. Although Florence was downgraded to a tropical storm after making landfall, it remains responsible for more than 40 deaths and billions of dollars in damages.
