United Way Appoints Former Suntrust Foundation President to New Role as Chief Experience Officer

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 3, 2020) United Way Worldwide today announced that Stan Little, former President of the SunTrust Foundation, has joined the organization as Chief Experience Officer (CXO). Little will lead all donor-facing functions that impact how the world engages with today’s United Way.  He will be a part of the executive management team and report to United Way President and CEO, Brian Gallagher.

As CXO, Little will be responsible for delivering a compelling, relevant and consistent engagement experience with United Way branded servicesꟷincluding cause marketing, strategic partnerships and other funding initiatives by individual and corporate donors, volunteers and partners.  By consolidating marketing, donor relations and key engagement products and services under Little’s leadership, United Way will deliver a best-in-class donor experience to fuel growth and community impact.

Little will also oversee United Way’s partnership with Salesforce.org, and drive market adoption of Salesforce Philanthropy CloudTM (SPC) powered by United Way curated content.  Launched in 2018, SPC represents the evolution of United Way’s employee giving model and offers employers an integrated way for their employees to give, volunteer and engage in causes they care about.

“I am excited to join United Way and to help advance the important transformation underway,” Little said. “Having been a ‘client’ of United Way, I appreciate the opportunity we have to create a seamless experience for our donorsꟷno matter how they engage with us. I look forward to playing a key role in driving United Way’s evolution and growth for the future.”

Prior to joining United Way Worldwide, Little was President of the SunTrust Foundation and led the bank’s corporate philanthropy with a focus on financial education and counseling, career readiness/workforce development and small business entrepreneurship. His prior work aligns with United Way’s mission to improve the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Stan to United Way,” said Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way.  “His arrival underscores our commitment to evolving as an organization by leveraging today’s technology and tools to continue our mission to strengthen communities.   Stan’s background in technology, marketing, sales and philanthropy makes him uniquely qualified to advance our strategies to drive growth and impact.”
