Community Resiliency

United Against Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is illegal in every country, but it still happens around the world and in our own backyards. It’s largely invisible — and it disproportionately affects marginalized people.

Survivors Lead the Way

United Way is committed to ending human trafficking and all systems infringing on the rights of our fellow human beings. We’re creating plans to detect, stop and prevent human trafficking. We’re also partnering with survivors and advocates to strengthen social safety nets as well as create new career paths for people who have experienced human trafficking.

  • The Strategy Guide to Combat Human Trafficking is a comprehensive resource for communities that want to understand human trafficking in their backyards. It offers strategies to stem the tide of human trafficking by drawing on community strengths, partnerships and programs.

  • United Way teamed with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to highlight the work of companies leading the fight against human trafficking. The report — Trust by Performance: Uniting Business and Philanthropy Against Trafficking — underscores the roles of business and philanthropy in combating this issue.

  • These two reports — from 2021-2023 and from 2015-2021 — highlight our human trafficking  work. We work with neighbors to spearhead innovative community programs. We lead awareness campaigns. And we help build career pathways for survivors. Our aim: to build a united front in the fight against human trafficking.
