Creating Opportunities for Communities to Thrive

Share This:

United Ways around the world are creating opportunities that empower individuals to thrive. From South Carolina to Mexico, Australia, India, and Tennessee, we are committed to better education, access to healthcare, and economic mobility.

In Berkeley County, South Carolina, we are assisting individuals like Mary, who faced financial challenges after her husband passed away. With dietary restrictions, Mary struggled to access nutritious food. Trident United Way worked with local organizations to ensure that she received the support she needed. We're also nourishing communities in South Africa, supporting school gardens and empowering farmers to take fresh produce to market. Together, our efforts are making nutritious food accessible to those who need it most.

In Tennessee, United Way is helping individuals like Sierra McCants achieve economic mobility. Sierra juggled three jobs before finding a promising career in pipefitting. United Ways' collaboration with Music City Construction Careers (MC3) provided training, support, and mentorship to help Sierra succeed.

In Mexico, United Ways are investing in STEM education. Through innovative programs, United Ways enable children and youth to develop academic, social-emotional, and gender equity skills. For students like Samuel Tapia, these experiences are life-changing, leading to fulfilling careers. Our dedication to education extends to our partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Australia, literacy interventions in the Turks and Caicos, school supplies for ALICE families in the Capitol Region, and supporting young readers at Camp iRock in Pickens County.

We also know that nutrition is essential to childhood learning, and in India, we are addressing malnutrition through the United Way India Nutrition Project. In partnership with local authorities and corporate donors, United Way India launched an educational campaign on food security. Their efforts have not only improved the health of children and mothers but also raised awareness about food security and nutrition.

These stories of resilience are some examples of what we can do when communities work together. Donate today to create opportunities in your community.
