United Way Worldwide President and CEO Releases Statement in Response to EPA's $2B Grant to Power Forward Communities
Alexandria, VA — Today (8/16/2024) Power Forward Communities (PFC), a coalition which includes United Way Worldwide, was awarded a $2B seven-year National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide capital for affordable residential decarbonization, with a specific focus on low-income and disadvantaged communities. United Way Worldwide will coordinate community outreach and engagement, which includes leading a mass marketing campaign and a robust investment in 211.
The coalition, which also includes Enterprise Community Partners, Rewiring America, Habitat for Humanity International, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is committed to transform the housing sector, save homeowners and renters money, invest in stronger communities, and help meet national climate goals.
