Meet the New Members of the Women United Global Leadership Council
It is my pleasure to announce and welcome five new members to the Women United Global Leadership Council. After a rigorous nominations process, the Council unanimously voted to welcome these amazing women and I had the pleasure of working alongside them during the United Way Advocacy Forum last month.
Our five newest members hail from different parts of the country and bring a diverse perspective and deep commitment to United Way and the work of Women United®. As a group we are committed to advancing gender equity and expanding access to quality, affordable, educational childcare.
Linda Demmler is the incoming Chair of Women United for United Way in Central Maryland. She serves as the Chief Operating Officer for IBM Global Asset Recovery Services, a technology leader in smarter and sustainable IT lifecycle management & value recovery. Linda offers her time and talents to fostering the leadership, growth and well-being of women and youth, as an IBM mentor & coach, IBM Pathways in Technology (P-Tech) internship sponsor and mentor.
Terrie Edwards is a founding member of Women United at United Way of the Virginia Peninsula and current member in Hampton Roads, VA. She is a Regional President for Sentara Healthcare responsible for five hospitals. Additionally, she is responsible for the system Operational Process Improvement and has served as the Operations Leader for the System Covid Task Force since its inception in January of 2020. Terrie has been involved in many initiatives and organizations locally including the Women’s Initiative Network.
Jan Brown Helgeson is a member of Women United of United Way Northern New Jersey. She is a Managing Director at Deloitte with a broad experience working with multinational clients to transform and support their global mobility programs linking them to broader Talent and Tax initiatives. She is passionate about DEI and supporting women and people in need, in her local, national, and global communities.
For over a decade, Tessie Johnson has managed the PricewaterhouseCoopers Des Moines, Iowa office. In addition to running the Des Moines office, she is currently serving as the lead engagement partner on various life and annuity company audits in Iowa and in the Midwest. Tessie has served on various nonprofit and community boards in Des Moines and her commitment to the elevation of women in our communities aligns with our commitment to advancing gender equity.
Aimee Norasingh is a Senior Relationship Executive with Optum Financial and has been a member of the Greater Twin Cities United Way and Women United community since 2015. Aimee has served on multiple committees for her local Women United and has been a part of the proposal review process for the Greater Twin Cities United Way. As a first generation American Aimee is committed to giving back to her local community and eager to mobilize on a national and local scale.
I am so grateful to be working alongside these women. As a group, we look forward to connecting with Women United members and mobilizing our group to advance gender equity, model philanthropy, and advocate for access to quality, affordable, educational childcare.
